Therapies for Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s Care and Support UK believes that Complementary and Alternative Therapies should be readily available to everyone with Parkinson’s. We are proud to provide some great opportunities for people with Parkinson’s to improve their quality of life through therapies that have been proven to help with a variety of Parkinson’s symptoms. The therapies may be provided at various times throughout the year and may at times be restricted to specific geographical areas. All programmes are fully funded by the charity. See below for therapies on offer.
Group Singing Therapy
Parkinson’s Care and Support UK are delighted to partner with Sing to Beat to provide group singing therapy for people with Parkinson’s.
Many people start singing therapy when their vocal strength begins to weaken or decline. We actively encourage people to be proactive and to engage in singing and speech and language therapy as soon as possible after a Parkinson’s diagnosis.
8- Week Research Backed Mindfulness Course
Parkinson’s Care and Support UK are delighted to offer 2 new research backed Mindfulness Courses which will be delivered by Mindfulness and Breathworks Accredited Teacher, Katie Sheen.
Suitable for people with Parkinson’s, carers and health professionals, the 8 week long courses will explore how mindfulness can help to support emotional and physical wellbeing, improving life today so that people can live better for longer with the condition.
