Parkinson’s Awareness Week was a very active week for Parkinson’s Care and Support UK! Our 2.5 Challenge saw many people with Parkinson’s come together via our LIVE ZOOM classes to slow down their progression!
Did you know that 2.5 hours of exercise a week can reverse or slow down the progression of Parkinson’s Disease? It doesn’t stop there. Research has also shown that regular high intensity exercise can reduce the likelihood of developing Parkinson’s Disease at an older age!
With that in mind, we developed a 5 day long High Intensity exercise challenge for people to help to beat Parkinson’s. The challenge consists of daily 30 minute exercise workouts to be carried out over 5 days in the week. There are 10 exercises to do each day and we have included additional cooldown movements and stretches. The challenge is designed to push you out of your comfort zone in order to improve your fitness, posture, balance, strength, flexibility and coordination.
Although Parkinson’s Awareness Week is over, we still want those who did not get the chance to participate in our challenge to do so now. We have recorded the 5 day challenge for you to do in the comfort of your own home. When you have finished, please give us your feedback at firstname.lastname@example.org
