Carer’s Week

Apply for Respite Care

It was Carer’s Week from 8th– 14th June 2020, is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to the lives of dependent people. As always we would like to send love and positivity to all the family carers of those with Parkinson’s.

New research launched for ‪Carers Week‬ found there are an estimated 13.6 million unpaid carers in the UK – 26% of the population.

Although rewarding, we can not deny that caring for our loved ones can be difficult, tiresome and even isolating. We must recognise everything carers do and especially bear them in mind with the challenges they have faced with Covid-19 and the lockdown regulations which added significant pressure for anyone who is a carer.

At Parkinson’s Care and Support UK, we care for Carers, which is why we have partnered with Helping Hands Home Care to provide free respite care for family carers of those with Parkinson’s.
