Parkinson’s Care and Support UK are the only UK charity that offers free Occupational Therapy for people with Parkinson’s. An Occupational Therapist is a healthcare professional that focuses on developing, recovering, or maintaining the daily living and working skills of people with physical, mental, or cognitive impairments. They form an essential part of any Parkinson’s healthcare plan. At a home visit, an Occupational Therapist will make assessments and then suggestions which can help you to improve safety, confidence, mobility and most importantly maintain your independence.
The service is offered to those who qualify according to the charity’s criteria of award. A written application Stage 1 will need to be carried out. We try to award the service to those who need it most. After your home assessment, your therapist may decide that you need subsequent visits.
If you are not awarded the free service or would like to self- fund your Occupational Therapy, please contact us for a referral to a Occupational Therapist at firstname.lastname@example.org.
To apply for a free Occupational Therapy home assessment, download the application form and return to email@example.com.
We always welcome donations to support our vital home-base services which improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s today, not tomorrow. There is no cure for Parkinson’s, but our services ensure that people with Parkinson’s can live better for longer.
