Parkinson’s Care and Support UK rely on the generous contributions of volunteers across the UK. By you giving up some of your time, we can reach far more people, raise more funds and ultimately support more people living with Parkinson’s Disease. Have a look at our current roles below. Money Collection Can

Collection Can Coordinator

Are you able to manage the distribution, banking and logging of our collection cans within your local community? Can you find new locations to place our collection cans that will raise awareness and much needed funds for PCSUK?

This volunteer role would be suited to someone who is able to commit themselves for at least 6 months, self-motivated and driven, has good links and knowledge of their local community and who is organised.

Key points

  • You must be able to get around the local community easily- preferably by car to place, pick up and bank the collection cans
  • You should be confident to speak to community leaders, introduce them to PCSUK and secure new locations to place our collection cans
  • You must be organised and maintain an accurate record of each location of our collection cans, dates placed and collected and keep receipts of monies raised.

Volunteer Speaker

PCSUK are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and confident individuals who can raise awareness of Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinson’s Care and Support UK. Volunteer Speakers will visit local community places such as schools, social and sports clubs, churches or workplaces and give small informative talks or presentations about Parkinson’s, the effects it has on people and the services that PCSUK offer to those affected by the condition.

We Particularly welcome those with the condition or those who have first- hand experience of Parkinson’s Disease in some way.

Key Points

  • You should be confident in speaking in front of people
  • You will be able to manage a diary of pre-arranged talks as well as source new opportunities to talk within the local community.
  • You will be provided with talk and presentation templates for your specific audience
  • Travel expenses will be covered

Volunteer Speaker

Public Collector

Several times a year the PCSUK troops rally up and carry out collections in various public places such as train stations, supermarkets and sports grounds.

Our public collections not only raise thousands of pounds for the charity, but our army of green, blue and white also raised much needed awareness of Parkinson’s and the fantastic work we are doing.

Key Points

  • To collect money at various public places alongside other PCSUK volunteers
  • To be responsible for money collected until the end of your shift
  • This role will involve standing up as there are no chairs available
  • People with Parkinson’s may attend with a carer

Events Volunteer

Volunteering at our events brings about a varied experience each time. It gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and often get involved in things you do not usually do.

Typically, roles at events include, marshalling, cheering on participants, manning registration desks, collecting money, assisting the public, taking videos and photographs, selling and much more.
