Singing Therapy for Parkinson’s
We are delighted to invite you to participate in group singing therapy for Parkinson’s.

Singing is a form of exercise and is a great therapy for people with Parkinson’s. Loss of vocal strength is a common problem for people with Parkinson’s and as singing uses the same muscles for swallowing and breathing, it can work to strengthen these. Singing also improves posture and breathing when using the correct technique.
No previous singing is required or expected. If you haven’t sung before, this is the group for you. Parkinson’s can affect the voice and recent research has found that singing can improve and strengthen vocal quality as well as being a fun, invigorating, communal activity. So come and join us for vocal exercises to help maintain your voice, as well as singing well-known songs from the comfort of your own home.
This group is run by Nicola Wydenbach, who is also the Director of Training for the Sing to Beat network.
