Make Your Captaincy Count

Tee off for Parkinson’s

Whether you’re a seasoned golfer, a weekend player, or just here for the fun, get ready for a round that’s about much more than the scorecard. By hosting a golf fundraiser for Parkinson’s Care and Support UK, you’re doing more than playing a game – you’re helping to transform lives.

Choose Parkinson’s Care and Support UK as Your Charity of the Year

Your year as Captain is an opportunity to bring your club together for something that can make a genuine difference. By choosing Parkinson’s Care and Support UK as your Charity of the Year, your golf club can help provide practical support to people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers, while also helping us work towards a future where Parkinson’s can be slowed, prevented and ultimately overcome.

Why Choose Parkinson’s Care and Support UK?

Parkinson’s can affect almost every aspect of a person’s life, and its impact can extend to families and carers too. Parkinson’s Care and Support UK provides practical and accessible support to help people manage the challenges of living with Parkinson’s and maintain their independence and quality of life.

Our support includes free exercise classes such as yoga, chair-based exercise and dance, as well as physiotherapy and support for people at home. We also provide mental health resources and speech and language workshops to help people manage some of the physical, emotional and communication difficulties that Parkinson’s can bring.

Alongside supporting people living with Parkinson’s today, we are committed to supporting  research focused on slowing, preventing and ultimately reversing Parkinson’s, while improving the lives of those already affected by the condition.

How Can Your Golf Club Get Involved?

There are many ways for your members to support Parkinson’s Care and Support UK throughout your Captain’s year. Your Captain’s Day or Charity Golf Day can become a key fundraising event, while activities such as nearest-the-pin, longest drive, putting competitions and Beat the Pro can add an extra fundraising element to your usual golf events.

Fundraising can also take place away from the course. Raffles, auctions, quiz nights, dinners and other social events can bring members together while raising vital funds. Members can also share their fundraising activities on social media, helping to raise awareness of Parkinson’s alongside funds.

We’ll Support You Throughout Your Captaincy

Choosing a Charity of the Year should be a partnership. Our team can provide fundraising ideas and guidance, promotional materials, information for your members and support with planning fundraising events. We can also provide stories and updates that demonstrate the difference your members’ support is making.

Our aim is to make supporting Parkinson’s Care and Support UK straightforward, engaging and rewarding for your club, while giving your members the opportunity to make a meaningful difference throughout your Captaincy.
